NDP Training Update

Acro NDP training this Friday (13th of March) will be at the earlier time of 1700 – 2000 to allow gymnasts an earlier night ahead of the Scottish Championships this weekend.

As all gymnasts are competing, there will be no Saturday (14th of March) Development Acro class.

NDP Training on Sunday (15th of March) is also cancelled due to clashing with the competition.

Saturday FIG training is on as normal.

British Gymnastics Announcement on Coronavirus

British Gymnastics has released advice to all clubs regarding the spread of Coronavirus. Hand hygiene will be strongly promoted and encouraged, with new posters going up in the gym. All equipment and facilities will be thoroughly cleaned and wiped down as usual following use.

With specific relation to upcoming competitions, both Scottish and British gymnastics have decided against postponing any events at this time.

We do not plan to postpone or cancel any competitions or events. As it stands, clubs can continue to train as normal and all members should follow the advice on how to reduce your risk of getting and spreading the infection. Anyone showing symptoms should follow the reporting guidance through NHS inform. We will share updates wider if there are significant changes to training and competition attendance.

Scottish Gymnastics

British Gymnastics does not plan to postpone or cancel any more competitions or events, but is regularly reviewing government advice and liaising with the venue operators. This includes Arena Birmingham for the Gymnastics World Cup and the M&S Bank Arena for the Gymnastics British Championships.

NDP Training Time Change – Friday 17th Jan 2020

Please note that NDP Acro training tonight (Friday 17th Jan) will take place at the earlier time of 17:00 – 20:00. This is to give the gymnasts competing tomorrow the chance to get home and get some rest before tomorrows early start!

There will also be no training on Sunday due to the competition.

Good luck to the gymnasts competing in the Acrobatic Invitational this weekend!

New Recreational Class Structure

As you may have spotted on our Facebook Page earlier this week, we are excited to announce the new class structure for our Recreational Gymnasts.

Returning gymnasts will be analysed this week to determine what grade they will be placed in for the rest of the year. Once the gymnast has their grade, you will be able to purchase a wristband for them (£2) that can then be worn to training. This will allow coaches to easily identify what stage each gymnast is at during training.

Gymnasts should always wear their wristbands to training.

More information on the skills that will be assessed at each grade can be found on our Recreational information page.
